Enufumi

Remember how good a letter felt?

  • 縁 en — Connection — the encounter between people.
  • 文 fumi — Writing, a letter, words set down by hand.

Enufumi (縁文) joins two Japanese characters with a special meaning. Together the name stands for connecting people through personal letters.

In an age of fast messages, Enufumi reminds us that genuine words and handwritten thoughts let relationships form and grow.

The app

EnuFumi is a letter-writing app for iPhone, iPad and Android. You write by hand, seal the page, and send it to someone who invited you to correspond. There is an address book, a mailbox, a stamp album, and a drawer for the letters you want to keep.

Slow on purpose

We did not build a faster way to talk — there are enough of those. We built a slower one. A letter costs you a little time and attention, and that is exactly what the person opening it will feel.

Not another message to type. Real handwriting — on digital paper — sealed and sent like mail that still means something.

Nothing here is public

There is no feed, no follower count, no reach to chase. A letter has exactly one reader. Nobody else sees it — not other users, not an algorithm, and not us.

EnuFumi is for people who miss writing — not tapping. Friends, family, penpals: anyone who would smile opening an envelope with their name on it.
