A desk that fits in your pocket

Open EnuFumi and you do not land in a feed. You land at a desk: paper with a texture, a stack of envelopes, a sheet of stamps, and a pen that waits for your hand.

The desk

The whole app is one quiet surface. Warm paper, a little grain, ink that settles as you write. Nothing blinks, nothing counts down, nothing asks you to come back tomorrow. When you close it, it stays closed.

Writing by hand

You write with your finger or with a stylus. Strokes carry speed and pressure, so the line thickens where you press and thins where you lift — it looks like your hand, because it is your hand.

Take your time. Cross a word out and write it again. Draw a small map in the margin. Add another page when one is not enough. There is no character limit and no typing indicator watching you think.

Envelopes and stamps

Before you write, you choose the envelope and place a stamp. It is a small decision, and it changes the letter: you are already thinking about who will open it. Stamps are collected over time, so an envelope can carry a little history of its own.

The mailbox

Letters arrive as post, not as a notification storm. You open the mailbox when you want to, take the envelope out, and unseal it — the paper unfolds in front of you and the handwriting is simply there, the way it was written.

The stamp album

Stamps you collect live in an album you can page through. You place one on an envelope before you write — a small ritual that already belongs to the person who will open it.

The collection

Photos and drawings that arrive with a letter can be kept in a collection of their own. They stay with the correspondence they belong to, not in a camera roll that forgets why they were sent.

The drawer

Letters you want to keep go into a drawer. They stay readable on your device, in order, with the envelope and stamp they arrived in. Re-reading an old letter is half the reason to write one.

The address book

People you write to sit in an address book, not a follower list. Correspondence starts with an invitation or a QR code, can be paused, and can start again when both of you want it to. Nobody writes to you uninvited.

What is deliberately missing

  • No feed, no likes, no comments, no reach.
  • No read receipts and no typing indicators.
  • No advertising, and no data sold to anyone.
  • No streaks, no badges, nothing that nags you to return.
